Ruth Alon, Chairman of the Board |
|
Ms. Alon joined Pitango in 1998. With over 26 years of international
experience in the high-tech medical industry, Ms. Ruth Alon heads the life
sciences activities at Pitango.
Ms. Alon previously worked on Wall Street where she held senior positions
with Montgomery Securities and Kidder Peabody & Co. As a senior medical device
analyst, Ms. Alon was rated as one of the top in her field for four consecutive
years. She also managed her own independent consulting business in San
Francisco, providing broad-based services to early-stage companies and venture
capitalists in the medical devices industry.
Ms. Alon has a B.A. in Economics from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, an
M.B.A. from Boston University, and an M.S. from the Columbia University School
of Physicians and Surgeons.

Dr. Daphna Heffetz, CEO and Director |

Prior to joining TransPharma, Dr. Heffetz served as CEO and Director of Savyon
Diagnostics. Dr. Heffetz received her Ph.D. in biochemistry from the Weizmann
Institute of Science in 1991, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in molecular
biology. She has published numerous articles in leading scientific journals, and
has been the recipient of a number of academic awards and prizes.

Yossi Gross - Director |

Mr. Gross is a co-founder of TransPharma, and participates and advises in the
company’s research and development activities. Mr. Gross was Vice President of
Research & Development at Elan Medical Technologies (Israel) Ltd., a subsidiary
of Elan Corporation, a world leader in advanced drug delivery systems. From 1988
to 1995, Mr. Gross directed the research and development operations of
Scientific Innovations Ltd. Between 1977 and 1985, he served in key management
positions in the Engineering Division of Israel Aircraft Industries. Mr. Gross
has over 100 patents registered in his name. He received an M.Sc. degree in
Aeronautical Engineering from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology in
1976.

Dr. Ronit Bendori - Director |
|
Dr. Bendori joined Evergreen in mid 2000 and is a Partner. She focuses on
Evergreen’s investments in the life sciences sector. Dr. Bendori is a former
Vice President of Pharmos Ltd. and QA/QC Director of Pharmos Corporation
(NASDAQ: PARS). Dr. Bendori also held various senior positions as an expert in
technology transfer at InterPharm Ltd. (Israel) and Ares-Serono (Switzerland).
As one of its most experienced figures, Dr. Bendori is an active promoter of the
Israeli biotech industry. She is one of the founders of the Israeli
Biotechnology Organization (IBO), a management group member of the of the
Manufacturers Association of Israel, and an adviser to the Chief Scientist at
the Israeli Ministry of Industry and Trade on biotechnology issues. Dr. Bendori
has taught biotechnology in various institutions, including the Israeli Center
for Management and the Weizmann Institute of Science. She sits on the boards of
Colbar Ltd., Procognia and Transpharma, Evergreen investments that she led. Dr.
Bendori has a Ph.D. in molecular and cellular biology from the Weizmann
Institute of Science.

Monique Laliberté - Director |
|
Monique Laliberté joined the Caisse in 2002 and currently assumes the position of Portfolio manager, Private Equity. Ms. Laliberté has more than 25 years of experience in business development, financial, strategic and scientific valuation in the life sciences sector. Prior to assuming this position, Ms. Laliberté was a member of the Caisse’s Mid-Sized Businesses team. Ms. Laliberté held various positions in the Private Equity group, notably with the Fund Management and Venture Capital teams. Previously, she was Vice-President, Biotechnology, Pharmaceuticals and Health Care at KPMG Corporate Finance. She was also Vice-President with Milestone Medica Corporation, Director, Business Development at Æterna Laboratories, Project Manager, Industrial Affairs at the Biotechnology Research Institute of the National Research Council of Canada and a Microbiology Research Associate at Allelix. Ms. Laliberté has been a member of the Québec venture capital association Réseau Capital for several years and has served on its Board since 2008. Ms. Laliberté is also the author of several scientific articles. She holds an MBA from HEC Montréal, an M.Sc. from Université Laval and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology from McGill University.

Jason Martin – Director

Jason Martin is Managing Director of Argonaut Private Equity, a global
private equity fund based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Since launching Argonaut
in 2002, Mr. Martin has invested in more than 20 privately-held
companies in industries as diverse as specialty materials,
telecommunications, software, drug delivery, aviation, and consumer
electronics. He currently serves as a director of Cordys Holding
(Putten, Netherlands), Memjet (Sydney, Australia), Omni Air
International (Tulsa, Oklahoma), Flash Networks (Herzliya, Israel),
TransPharma Medical (Lod, Israel), Sol-Gel Technologies (Bet Shemesh,
Israel), Yulex (Carlsbad, California), VoiceSignal (Woburn,
Massachusetts), Luminus Devices (Woburn, Massachusetts) and Midas
Communication Technologies (Chennai, India). Prior to Argonaut, Mr.
Martin was Managing Director of Williams Communications, where he led
more than a dozen investments in high-tech companies. His previous
experience includes senior management positions in the
telecommunications industry and managing institutional investment
programs. Mr. Martin is a graduate of Harvard College.

Larry Ellberger – Director |
|
Mr.
Ellberger is a Founder and Principal of HVA, Inc. a consulting firm
specializing in business development, product acquisition and
licensing, and mergers and acquisitions for pharmaceutical,
biotechnology, drug delivery, and medical device companies. He was a
member of the Board of Directors at Omrix Biopharmaceuticals, Inc., a
NASDAQ-listed commercial-stage biopharmaceutical company, and on the
Board of Directors of Avant Immunotherapeutics, a NASDAQ-listed vaccine
biotechnology company.
Most recently, Mr. Ellberger held the position of Interim CEO of PDI, Inc., a
sales and marketing service provider for pharmaceutical and biotech companies.
Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and a
member of the Board of Directors at PowderJect, a publicly-traded drug delivery
company. Previously, Mr. Ellberger held several senior positions during his 20
year tenure at American Cyanamid Company, a leading life science company. He was
also CFO and interim CEO at W.R. Grace & Co.
