TransPharma is focused on developing multiple drug-products through strategic
partnerships with leading pharmaceutical companies. Our proprietary ViaDerm
delivery system, based on RF-MicroChannel technology, is an ideal solution for
systemic delivery of a large portfolio of both large and small molecules, and
can be easily combined with a wide range of patch technologies. TransPharma has
established an infrastructure for product development and manufacturing enabling
us to form strategic partnerships from early stage proof-of-concept studies to
extensive development and commercial collaborations. Evaluation of our drug
delivery platform can be conducted either in our in-house laboratories or at our
partner’s site.
In June 2008, TransPharma Medical and Eli Lilly entered into a
licensing
agreement for the development and commercialization of
our ViaDerm-hPTH (1-34) product for the treatment of osteoporosis. The product,
which is administered transdermally using our proprietary technology, is
currently in Phase II clinical testing. Under the terms of the agreement, Lilly
will obtain exclusive worldwide rights to develop and market the ViaDerm hPTH
(1-34) product. In return, TransPharma was granted a $35M upfront payment and
will be entitled to development and sales milestones as they occur, and to
royalties from sales of the product.
